Tesla Adjusts Electric Car Range Estimates

EVS found a report from GreenCarReports that states Tesla has lowered range estimates for some electric models, including the Model Y Long Range and Model S Plaid. The Long Range now shows a 310-mile range (down from 330 miles), and the Model S Plaid has been revised to 359 miles from 396 miles.

Tesla has not explained the changes, fueling speculation. Reports in 2023 accused Tesla of suppressing range complaints, but the company remains silent. The 2022 Impact Report suggests Model S and X maintain 88% of their original range at 200,000 miles, indicating durability.
