New Race-Focused Edition Introduced
Rimac has announced the release of its updated Nevera model, introducing the new, race-focused Nevera R edition. This version features a next-generation battery pack and delivers significantly improved performance figures.
The Rimac Nevera, known as the fastest production electric vehicle (EV) in the world, has already set numerous world records. Despite its accomplishments, Rimac’s CEO, Mate Rimac, noted that the original Nevera was primarily designed as a comfortable Grand Tourer (GT).
Performance Enhancements and Features
The newly launched Nevera R has been engineered with track performance in mind. Key updates include a larger rear wing, carbon-ceramic brakes, and upgraded software that prioritizes performance over battery range. The vehicle is equipped with a 108kWh battery pack, which is lighter and more efficient than the standard model.

As a result, the Nevera R accelerates from 0-60 mph in 1.74 seconds, reaches 124 mph in 4.38 seconds, and hits 186 mph in 8.66 seconds—nearly a second faster than the previous model.
Fastest Production EV to Date
The Nevera R now produces 2,107 horsepower and has a top speed of 256 mph, maintaining its position as the fastest production EV currently available. Production is limited to 40 units worldwide. The Nevera R is expected to attempt new lap records, potentially improving on its previous time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
