Gravity’s New EV Charging Stations for City Drivers

Gravity has just introduced a new type of EV charging station that could transform urban charging.

Called Distributed Access Energy Points (DEAPs), these chargers look like “trees” with cables hanging from extended arms, similar to those at self-service car washes. The cable swings down for charging and retracts when done, keeping sidewalks clear of clutter. Impressively, these chargers don’t need any utility upgrades but can still deliver powerful charging—200 kW or 500 kW. This means you can add 200 miles of range in just 13 minutes or five minutes, respectively.

Gravity aims to create a vast network of these DEAP chargers, potentially outpacing Tesla’s Supercharger network. If all goes as planned, these chargers will soon be a common sight in cities, making it easier than ever to charge your EV on the go.
