Jim Hall, Director of Speed at EVS, tackled the Streets of Willow on February 26, 2022. Jim drove a modified Porsche GT3 and set an all-time speed record for street legal cars CCW of 1:15.79.
A previous record–set by EVS’ own Will Wattanawongkiri in another modified GT3–was 1:16.48.
The car is a 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 owned by Jim’s driving student. The car was set up by WRTeknica and includes mods to engine, suspension, aerodynamics, and transmission, plus a significant amount of safety equipment. Jim’s track record was set in a time attack context using the AiM Solo 2 timer to mark his time.
Jim reported the day-of conditions as perfect. The main Streets’ layout was run counter clockwise. Before this post, but since Jim’s run, a heavily modified Corvette Grand Sport posted a time of 1:16.31, a time which breaks Will’s previous record but still falls shy of Jim’s.
